Boot Windows 7 PE from Local Harddisk

This post will brief about how can we add a menu to existing windows 7 boot loader and boot windows 7 PE without usb/cd/dvd directly from local harddisk.

Windows 7 PE-

1] Prepare Windows 7 pe iso.

2] Extract the wim file from the iso, copy it to the C drive of harddisk.
3] Rename the wim file as win7pe.wim

This post will brief about how can we install windows 7 from usb drive bootable which has the grub4dos bootloader.

1] Prepare the target usb drive by my prevous post.
2] Install grub4dos bootloader to usb drive and add windows 7 pe to this bootloader menu.
3] Go to target usb drive, make a newfolder named as 'WIN7SOURCE' with capital and no space.
4] copy the contents of windows 7 iso to WIN7OURCE folder.
5] Download - NT6.X_fast_installer_100219.7z

This post will brief about how can we install xp from usb drive bootable which ahs the grub4dos bootloader.

1] Prepare the target usb drive by my prevous post.
2] Install grub4dos bootloader to usb drive and add windows 7 pe to this bootloader menu
3] Go to target usb drive, make a newfolder named as 'XPSOURCE' with capital and no space.
4] copy the contents of xp iso to XPOURCE folder.
5] If U_XP_SET folder is not available to the target ub drive, then copy it to the root of target usb drive.

Now we have a usb disk which is able to boot wth grub4dos bootloader and Winodws 7 pe is available to usb disk for booting.

We can add many os to the usb drive bootloader by grub. This post will brief about this.

Adding Windows 7 Repiar disc-

1] Copy windows 7 repair disc iso to the root of target usb drive ( where the grub is installed).
2] Rename the iso file to win7Repair.iso

1] Always use the first drive of usb disk for this method.
This drive must be primary.
2] Format the target drive as NTFS - Quick by Windows Management Console and mark it Active.
3] Download U_XP_SET - http://wimb.winbuilder.net/downloads/?dir=&download=U_XP_SET.exe
4] Extract the U_XP_SET to the root of local drive.

For making All-in-one Usb boot disk, we need various tools.
So in this post I will talk about these utilities-

1] Windows 7 must be installed on your system.
2] Windows Automated Installation Kit(WAIK) for Windows 7- For preparing the windows 7 pe image.
3] Windows 7 dvd/ cd image- For preparing windows 7 pe image.
4] Make-PE3- For automating the process of making windows 7 pe image through WAIK.

USB Boot Disk is nothing but contains os on the usb drive and we can launch the os by booting the usb fdd or usb hdd.

Here we are making the usb boot disk which contains the windows pe, linux, recovery disc and other system utility.
We can install xp or windows 7 without the need of cd/dvd by booting the usb boot drive.

In this post, basically I am going through the steps which is required to make the all in one usb boot disc.
